Colorado in the USA has more oil reserves than all of the other oil reserves in the world combined, it’s just it it too hard to retrieve

goldnev resources (gnz) has a huge oil discovery. 2 billion barrels of oil shale.

pat442389: Plenty of oil for the next 25 years without difficult recovery? Sure. Great. But what about the babies born *today*?? What will they be using 70-80 years from now? Nothing - that’s what. The oil age will be but a blip on the timeline of human existence - around 200 years. What about the next 1000? You and I will be dead, yeah. But if you plan to live the next 40-50 years, you WILL see the end of oil in your lifetime.

So the hallowed America will become a violent global tyrant, throw out its constitution, the Geneva convention, and attack other innocent neighboring allies (like Canada) in order to secure oil ? If so, then WTF is half your nation worried about Obama being the antichrist and “ruining America” boogeyman theories? If the USA came to attacking ALLIES, it would be done as a nation. Tear up everything your forefathers created? BTW, the WORLD ARMY could easily destroy your army - anytime they want.

thats why america can destroy any army at any time they want, and they will for oil. we went to iraq on a lie think about what we will do over life and death. also theres more oil out there america and canada need each other and once they stop caring about an oil field destroying some pretty mountains we again will rise to the top 4 in oil production. believe me when i say we have plenty of oil for the next 25 years before new techniques may be needed to get the deeper oil in the oceans

Both Canada & Saudi reserves can be burned up in 15-20 years, at current rates of consumption. People think trillions of barrels are something huge…uh, no. They obviously don’t know rates of consumption today. It’s staggering - and growing faster every day/week/month. On a global scale, EVERY WELL WILL BE DRY BY 2060. Actually, most of you reading this right now will live to see the day. Scared yet? Well I am. That is why we had better get into other energies as soon as possible.

The day the USA goes dry there will be a global powershift where the mighty America will dance on the puppetstrings of other nations. Think about it. Once the USA is 100% importing (in 2040 or 2050), one simple change in international oil policy (such as hoarding your own and maintaining your own societies way of life) will most likely happen. Picture an oil-less USA. That is why the USA is nearly too late in getting this alternative energy thing going - it should have started 15 years ago

Oh Americans, swallowing it like a drunk chugging swill… all of these global sources yet you think when times get tough and things are going dry…they’re going to be all tankering it to the USA? HELL NO! I am Canadian, and if the tar sands have this alleged future of being so rich, it’s OURS REGARDLESS. A day will come where we will hoard it as our own, and sustain our way of life well beyond the USA being bone dry. Other countries will do the same. The USA will go dry first - no question

178,900,000,000 barrels.

hey dip shit canada only has 178 billion RECOVERABLE barrels of oil, so unless you have the secret new technology that’s going to unlock the rest of the oil then shut the fuck up. Oh and 178 billion will only be enough for 5 years at the current rate of consumption. a lot of fucking good that does us.

This guy is wrong. Alberta actually has 5 times more oil than the middle east
